There are dive shops and resorts located on the islands, so you can either rent equipment or bring your own. If you do not know how to dive, do not worry, most shops offer certification courses or courses, if you do not feel good.
Hawaiian watersDiving offer for all skill levels. There are five major underwater habitats, which you can explore. These include coral reefs, caves, small caves, lava tubs, drop-offs, basalt cliffs and sandy soils. These areas are so diverse that you can gain access to them either from the shoreline, or from a boat. Boating out to a dive site is the easiest access and offers the best conditions. Diving from the shore line is not encouraged when it floods.

All offer a wide range of depths for beginners and intermediates of divers, with 12 meters to 65 meters. There are also Brennecke's Drop-Off, Sheraton Caverns and Oasis Reef on the south side of the island. These locations are proposed for the intermediate diver. If you opt for anchallenging environment that includes monk seals, and dolphins side by side with you, then head out the north side of Nihau.
On the main island of Hawaii, you might want to visit the Kona and Kohala coasts. There are places like Pine Trees, Place of Refuge, Cavern Point and Kailua Pier that offer a degree of difficulty for beginners to advanced. The depth here varies from 10 to 130 meters.
