Only six miles west of Cody, Wyoming, the Buffalo Bill Dam. It is the perfect place to stop once you on your way to Yellowstone National Park is just past the tunnel. The park was founded in May 1993 as a rest area and visitor center and was converted into the Buffalo Bill Dam Park.
The exhibits and displays are enjoyable and interesting, and it is certainly some historical information worth knowing. The park is just minutes away from the Buffalo BillHistorical Center, home of the Buffalo Bill Museum, Cody Firearms Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, is The Plains Indian Museum, and the Draper Museum of Natural History.
Most people do not make Buffalo Bill Dam their target for a holiday, but it's a great place to visit if you go already in the area around Yellowstone National Park. There are many places like that which are close to another tourist destination, but since theynot so popular, they are not getting as much attention. So the next time you are on vacation consider what others around you as the place that you visit because you just might find that you have so far missed out on a lot!
The Buffalo Bill Dam in Wyoming is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am until 6 clock clock clock and Sunday 10 am until 6 clock in the evening during the months of May and September and during the months of June, July and August, Monday through Friday from 8 to 8 clock Saturday 8 to clockSunday 10 am and 6 clock clock clock until 6.
Just about every time you drive through the tunnel on the way home, or from Yellowstone National Park you can take a break to see what Buffalo Bill Dam to offer. If not, you can always come back another day. It is not too much time and it is certainly not out of the way, but it is worth check out if you are in this part of Wyoming.
